Mrs. Faith Jegede Cole is a writer and philosopher in London England. She has 2 autistic brothers in which she has grown up with and is the older siblings to. She created a Ted Talk called What I've Learned From my Autistic Brother. From this as she talks one who has read of Mice and Men can not help but see what she sees in her brother in Lennie. In Remy the older of the two brothers loves unconditionally and does not see skin color he sees people for what they are and personality not how society sees them. Which is the same case with Lennie. Lennie as many will recall talked to Crooks at least once at a time when others wouldn't even associate themselves with a man of color. Along with others on the farm did not make an attempt to interact with him because Lennie saw the pureness in him and gave his love unconditionally. Sam is Mrs. Coles other brother he is 16 tall and remembers almost anything selectively. instead of how many people would perceive normal to be when it comes to remembering dates he remembers lady Gagas birthday, every song on her iPod and, conversations they had when they were four. Mrs. Cole goes on the speak that as she grew up the more she began to realizes about her brothers. That even though socially they are not perceived as ordinary its cause they are not. They are extraordinary! This can be seen as the same way George views Lennie. Not as somebody who is not socially equal to him but instead as an extraordinary human being who needs to be given a chance. Therefore George makes it his personal goal to ensure Lennie is given those chances instead of stolen away from him and taken advantage of him. Lennies ability to see the world differently gives a greater meaning to the farm that they had always dreamed about. instead of a place where they can be free and not have to work everyday in their lives as it meant to George it was a place of never ending happiness and as Lennie would say it "A place where I can feed the chickens". That is the beauty in Lennies point of view and his beautifully different mind.
